PADI
PADI is the world's largest scuba diving organisation with over 10 million certifications. PADI has an excellent teaching methodology, which incorporates structured material designed by educationalists and diving instructors. These materials include professional written books, videos and multimedia. The Teaching methodology follows the latest methods of teaching with continual reinforcement of key points and ensures a good retention by continually setting review questions.
We would recommend PADI for any diver as it is well structured and supports its professionals well. The only criticism is that its web site is utter rubbish and was obviously designed with out any expertise in web. It's our biggest bugbear, as web design is our day job.
The only course that we would not recommend is the Tech deep. PADI has only been doing this for a short time and we would prefer TDI as they have been around this space for a long time, but knowing PADI once this course has been tweaked it will probably be as good as the rest.
Since 1967, PADI has issued over 10,151,841 diver certifications.
2 out of every 3 new divers in the US and over 1 out of 2 in the world are PADI certified annually.
