SSI
SSI is the equivalent of PADI but just not as huge. They have excellent teaching materials ranging from professional books to videos and multimedia. Their courses are very well structured and have a very high quality control over their instructors.
They are a quality organisation with a great reputation for producing good divers. We would highly recommend SSI alongside PADI except for those who wish to become professionals as getting work as a PADI instructor is much easier.
One last note: their web site is by far the best for finding any information that you could possibly want on dive training, apart from Scubadex of course!
