Regulators connect to the tank to provide the scuba diver air. The purpose of the regulator is to reduce the high pressure of the tank and regulates it into ambient (normal) air pressure.
The modern regulator consists of two parts, the first stage and second stage. The first stage attaches to the tank via a yoke or din adapter and reduced the pressure of the tank to a lower pressure. The second stage then converts the pressure into the same pressure as your environment.
