Lying on the Indian Ocean just east of Madagascar and north of the Tropic of Capricorn, Mauritius is volcanic in origin. The breathtaking landscape once was home to the dodo. The spectacular beauty on land carries on underwater. Both off its shore and in its fresh water lakes.

Diving Description
The Mauritius diving experience is little short of beautiful. A wealth of fringing reefs systems suitable for beginner and experienced divers alike. Shallow and calm waters lie within the barrier reef while the small reefs and bommies make for excellent diving

The Outer Reef Wall
For the more adventurous diver there are a number of channels through the reef to the ocean. On the outer reef you will find wall diving at its very best. A good fish life, sharks, dolphins, mantas and occasional whalesharks all swim the waters around the wall.
The Supermarket
For experienced diver only, this destination is a favourite among shark divers. There are a number of operators who can take you there.
Other info
You won't need any inoculations or anti-malarials. The climate is sub-tropical although temperatures do vary through the year. The rainy season is between January and march. Cyclones are possible from November to February!
