Scuba Diving Holidays In Mozambique |
If you've a yen to escape from the crowds, then Mozambique is for you. Explore almost untouched but stunning waters away from more 'touristy' dive locations.
Country Description
Nestling between South Africa and Tanzania, Mozambique has been torn apart by a 16-year civil war. Only the capital Maputo is considered safe for tourists, as the rest of the country is still littered with mines. However with a good guide you will find stunning countryside and, best of all, unspoilt diving.

Diving Description
Diving is a huge growth area for Mozambique's tourism industry, largely thanks to South African operators offering specialist tours. The waters around Mozambique promise totally unspoilt reefs with an abundance of coral and marine life. Be warned however, launching a RIB can be difficult as the area is prone to large swells thrown in by the Indian Ocean.

Maputo
The most developed area lies on the coastline near to Maputo. The coast features a broken barrier reef that is reasonably close to shore. These boast pristine coral formations and are teaming with life, including virtually guaranteed shark sitings (bull, ragged tooth sand tigers and silvertips are most common).
Other info
You should only use a reputable tour company with an intimate knowledge of the country, as Mozambique is still a dangerous country for tourists |
